ABOUT ME

Rebecca Rand  was born in Danbury, Connecticut and raised in Rochester, New York. Since a very young age, Rebecca has been performing professionally with a multitude of regional theatre companies throughout the Greater Rochester area. Her first role was in A Christmas Carol at Geva Theatre Center at the ripe age of five. Since then, her love for performing has only grown.

Rebecca continued to perform in theatrical productions throughout her High School career. She was blessed with opportunities to perform in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as well as A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Geva Theatre Center, earning her Equity Membership Certification.

Rebecca began studying towards her BFA in Musical Theater from Kent State University. While at Kent State, Rebecca had opportunities to tackle some of the most challenging roles in theater. She played Jo March in Little Women; Daisy Hilton in  Side Show; Cinderella in Into the Woods; Lois Lane/Bianca in Kiss Me Kate and Elma in Bus Stop. Rebecca is a member of the Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society.

Rebecca acted as music director of The Kent Clarks, an a cappella group on Kent State University's campus, for three consecutive semesters. During her time with the Clarks, Rebecca had the honor to perform with the group live on the Today Show and at a rally for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

In 2016, Rebecca had the thrilling experience of performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in Edinburgh, Scotland with Kent State’s Transforum Theater. The group performed an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

Immediately after earning her BFA in Musical Theatre in 2018, Rebecca moved to NYC and began working. She jumped right into the Theatre for Young Audiences world performing in a production of East Heaven High with Stages on the Sound. She then performed in the 5 boroughs with the Paper Bag Players for 3 consecutive seasons.

In the summer of 2022, Rebecca ventured out to the woods to face her most challenging role yet; Drama Director at a 7 week long sleep-away camp. Through sunburns, bug bites, sleepless nights and yes, even lice (ew), Rebecca and her team were able to produce two musicals; Beauty and The Beast Jr. and Shrek! Jr. which began Rebecca’s directing career.  She has continued on to add another summer with productions of Honk! Jr. & Disney’s The Descendants.

Rebecca now works as a singing waitress at Ellen’s Stardust Diner in Times Square, NYC. She also assistant directs the musicals at an afterschool program on the Upper West Side. (This year- Footloose & Matilda!)

Apart from performing, Rebecca fills her free time with her guinea pig, Ron, her adventures in maintaining a gluten free lifestyle and LOTS of Dr. Pepper.
